At 15, I was in a major car accident that led me down a month’s long road to recovery. I spent a lot of time in clinics re-learning daily activities and training for return to sports. It was my first ever experience with injury and I credit that massive life event as the reason why I became a physiotherapist. I wanted to help people return to their best as physiotherapists had once done for me.
Growing up I dabbled in my sports that ranged from dance to soccer, to baton twirling to swimming. In my early teens I committed to volleyball and have loved the sport ever since. These days, I am no stranger to summer beach volleyball leagues and stay involved working with youth teams in the community. My diverse sport background gives me an appreciation of the necessary skills required when helping people return to their desired activity. I endeavour to help individuals manage their injuries, recover effectively, and ultimately optimize their movement. I put people at the centre of their own care and work collaboratively with them to achieve their goals.
Outside of the clinic you can find me teaching future physiotherapists at the University of Western Ontario, playing volleyball, reading, travelling, and spending time outdoors.
Special interests: volleyball players, runners, pre- and post-surgical patients, youth athletes, weekend warriors.
