Manual Therapy

Using hands-on techniques, our therapists assess, diagnose and treat the muscles, joints, nerves and fascia. Manual therapy techniques may include myofascial release, spinal manipulation and joint, nerve and soft tissue mobilization.

Exercise Prescription + Active Rehabilitation

Every body moves differently. That’s why a personalized and structured exercise program that addresses your specific injuries or movement goals is so important in getting you to move forward. From pre-surgical care to getting back in the game, we’ve got you.

Acupuncture / Dry Needling

Acupuncture and dry needling involve stimulating specific meridian and trigger point sites (commonly referred to as acupuncture points, or acupoints) with thin, sterile needles; this may help to decrease pain and relieve muscle tension.

Strength + Conditioning

Optimal physical performance and injury prevention require the right balance of technique, flexibility, strength, and motor control. Not only do we talk the talk, but our staff has walked the walk – as high-performance athletes, yogis, runners and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists. Our team is equipped to push you to be your best!

Sport Physiotherapy

Assessing, evaluating, and managing the prevention and rehabilitation of sports injuries is something that we excel at. Whether you’re an Olympian or Pro, high school/club athlete, or simply enjoy being active in your community, we’ve done our homework. We stay ahead of the pack when it comes to assessing and diagnosing sports injuries, educating on load management, planning for a safe return to sport, as well as bracing, therapeutic and preventative taping, and equipment recommendations.

Registered Massage Therapy

Registered Massage Therapists are regulated health professionals who are trained to assess and treat physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissue and joints of the body using a mostly hands-on approach. Massage therapy can also be used to prevent injuries, for therapeutic relaxation, to alleviate stress, and to manage acute and chronic pain. Our highly skilled massage therapists will help you to identify those areas in your body that need some extra attention and select the most appropriate massage techniques to restore optimal tissue health.

Certified Professional Bike Fit

Whether you are looking to race the Tour Divide, climb provincial or national rankings, or simply commute more comfortably and ride pain-free, a professional bike fit performed by a Registered Physiotherapist can help to get you there.  During your fit, an extensive subjective and objective assessment will be performed on and off of your bike.  Your goals and riding style will be discussed and we can decide what changes to your bike can be made for improved success and comfort.

If any additional parts are required, we will connect with your local bike shop to share measurements and parts to help complete your set up.  Further physiotherapy follow-ups may also be beneficial to help improve function and performance on the bike. Not sure if your bike is suitable for a bike fit? Feel free to get in touch!

Custom Orthotics + Bracing

Our Certified Pedorthist is trained in the casting, manufacturing, fitting and adjusting of custom orthotics, custom orthopaedic footwear and custom knee braces. Each full biomechanical assessment includes gait analysis, footwear analysis and a general review of your foot health. Our clinic also carries a selection of over the counter bracing options for tennis elbow, ankle sprains, patellofemoral pain and thumb/wrist pain.

Pre + Post-Operative Therapy

Research has shown that being in good physical condition before surgery may improve post-surgical outcomes. In addition to creating and leading you through your own personalized rehabilitation program, our team can also answer any general questions that you may have regarding your surgery, educate you on the anatomy of the region, and give you an idea of what to expect after surgery.

Prenatal and Postpartum Health

The [mend] family appreciates that pregnancy and delivery can be both a wonderful and challenging experience. It’s essential to listen to your body during/after your pregnancy. Our therapists can help you to identify affected body structures (i.e. diastasis rectus abdominis, tendinopathies, pelvic girdle/sacroiliac joint pain) and develop strategies for function as your body changes and recovers.

Electrotherapeutic Modalities

To compliment the other forms of treatment that we offer, we can provide therapeutic modalities such as Therapeutic Ultrasound, Interferential Current (IFC), Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) and Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation.
